Ken Klebanoff is Brookwood's Senior Vice President focused on development and project management. Ken is a Brookwood shareholder and a member of the firm's Management Committee. Ken’s experience is concentrated in managing development, design, construction documentation, and construction administration of large scale office, residential and mixed use projects as both an Architect, a project manager and an Owner’s Representative.
From 1981 to 1991, while serving as project manager for the firm of John Burgee and Philip Johnson, he supervised design and construction for high-rise projects throughout the United States totaling more than 10 million square feet, including the 50 story, 191 Peachtree Tower in Atlanta.
In 1991, Ken joined Brookwood as Vice-President to manage the design development of a new high-rise project as a part of a master plan project for the Coca-Cola Company headquarters. He also directed the production of plans and documents for the unification of more than 400 branch banks for Chemical Banking Corporation, New York as a result of Chemical Bank’s merger with Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company. At Brookwood, Ken served as Vice President for Planning and Design Services and directed both the design and the development of The Wakefield, a 190,000 square foot luxury high-rise residence in Atlanta, as well as managing the design and construction for several of the residences including the penthouse and garden level units.
From 1996 through 2001 Ken served as project director for design and construction for Wynnton Group, a Georgia based Development Company specializing in high-rise residential office and multi-use projects. He was responsible for the overall management of the design and construction of The Renaissance Apartments, phase one of a 10.5 acre multi-use development in Sarasota, Florida, 345 Bayshore, a 250-unit, 20-story luxury high-rise in Tampa; and Appling Lakes, a 312-unit garden apartment development in Memphis. Ken joined Artisan Properties in 2002 as a partner to develop a new office/warehouse prototype and to manage the design and construction of new projects. He developed and constructed more than 500,000 SF of office/warehouse projects in Macon, Columbus, Hiram, Cumming and LaGrange, Georgia.
In October of 2004, Ken formed the Trylon Company to develop new projects and provide architectural design and project management services. Phase One of Trylon’s first development project, Commerce Park at Northbrook, an office condominium development in Gwinnett County Georgia, completed construction in 2008 and successfully sold out in 2010. He is currently operating an architectural practice and providing project management consulting services. He most recently worked with Brookwood as a project manager for the newly completed 6 story Classroom addition to Georgia State University’s Classroom South Building.
Ken graduated from the University of Texas in 1978 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, cum laude. He is a registered architect, NCARB certified, a member of the American Institute of Architects, and a LEED Accredited Professional.
